Dot's Pretzels and Sour Patch Kids are not an awesome combo. That explains this face made by our CEO and Co-Founder Robin on her last sales road trip around the west.
While she sometimes makes poor snack choices, she always comes home from these selling tours with gobs of insights, inspiration and stories. You see, 3-4 times per year, Robin loads up her skis or mountain bike and fills the back of her car with Town Hall gear and sets off on an adventure. She's not sure what she'll find, who she'll meet or what product she will sell, but it's always been a success in one way or another. From the time she pulled over four times to take notes on a How I Built This podcast to the time she got snowed in at an airstream at the Amigo Motor Lodge in Salida to meeting her new favorite friends in Crested Butte at Chopwood Mercantile, there is always a silver lining to lots of long hours on the road...solo. By the end, it doesn't feel so solo - she's invited into beautiful mountain communities by wonderful locals and building friendships that will last a lifetime.
.
She forges new partnerships with passionate community-builders and savvy retailers, rides new trails and is sure to hit the local breweries when she rolls into town. See below for her fave nooks and crannies in one town she has spent some sizable time in over the last year:
Summer: Raft the Snake with Dornan's Float Trips. Expert guides full of history and stories...all while quietly floating under the Tetons. Grizzly sightings not guaranteed, but Robin lucked out.
Fall: Trail run or hike up Snow King Mountain in downtown Jackson for incredible views of the valley and the Tetons. You'll likely have the whole place to yourself.
.
Winter: Get your jollies out at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Take the tram, get the waffle, ski the pow and imbibe at the Mangy Moose.
Spring: Rent bikes from Hoback Sports and spin between Wilson and Jackson. You might spy moose and you'll feel safe on this dedicated pathway.
You cannot miss a stop at Skinny Skis when you are in downtown Jackson. You'll find top notch and well-curated outdoor gear, incredible local advice and warm, friendly faces...and Town Hall!
Give'r gloves and apparel is headquartered in Jackson and Bubba and his team make THE BEST gloves. They are Robin's go-to's in any season.
NOSO patches are a wonderful way to keep your gear going for longer. Kelli and the team roll out the red carpet every time Robin is in town.
If you love wool as much as Robin does, you won't hesitate to pick up some baselayers for your kiddos at Iksplor. Again, headquartered in Jackson. Woot!
Stio does an awesome job building excellent gear for all of your mountain adventures. Check out their shop just off the square.
Get your mountain modern fix at Mountain Dandy, a wonderful interiors store. The art, handmade crafts and furniture are unmissable!
Roadhouse Brewing Co is the spot for a cold IPA and a hearty burger on the square.
Prep for a picnic at Pearl Street Market.
Robin can't vouch for the yoga (yet!), but the coffee and healthy treats are excellent at Inversion.
When your extended family comes in from France to meet you in Jackson, you celebrate with a beautiful night out at Coelette. Wow.
On your way over Teton Pass or when in Wilson, be sure to grab a bagel sandwich at Pearl Street Bagels.
Robin tends to stay with friends or sleep on couches when she road trips, but she has had great experiences staying with Outpost Vacation Rentals and parking her camper at Fireside Resort.
