2022: The Year of the Hustle

2022: The Year of the Hustle

This won't come as much of a shock, but starting a business is a hustle. From shlepping gear at events to journal entries to navigating inbound logistics to talking to the press to picking, packing, shipping and hand delivering - if you know, you know. There is very little sitting and lots of 2am thinking. Those are the hard parts. The great part? We absolutely love what we are doing and are so thankful for every moment that we get to spend on Town Hall.

When we look back at what transpired in 2022, one thing was clear - we were On.The.Go! It's baffling what we fit into 2022 and it truly feels like we built a great foundation to propel us forward. We kicked off the year realizing that there is no one better at building community than your small, local retailer who loves helping people #loveoutside. So we hit the road and knocked on door after door and found six amazing partners to sell Town Hall around the country. Spring brought new tees and truckers and decisions for our second winter product line. Summer was spent outside with our beautiful partners from the Emerald Mountain Epic to the 24 Hour Boat Cruise (Integrated Community) to the Vail Kids Adventure Games. And this fall we saw our hard work and great gear get selected by Outside Magazine as Best Kids Gear, a new store partner in Skinny Skis in Jackson, WY and a pop-up shop in our hometown

We're inspired. We're tired. We're invigorated. We're proud. We're thankful. We're humbled.  And, after a few days of rest over the Hallidays and a 'Boat-load of snow, we're ready for a big year ahead. A spring outerwear line, new store partnerships, more grassroots community events and the same smiles, love and community that Town Hall loves bringing you. Thanks for being you, thanks for being in our community, thanks for loving outside with us.

Love Outside,

Robin, Jay and Joe

JANUARY

Road Trip! We took a two week lap around Colorado and New Mexico, meeting outdoor retailers and building new partnerships. We are so thankful for those that took us on and are selling Town Hall! When we got home, we had plenty of new orders to fill!

FEBRUARY - APRIL

We brought new community into the brand at Winter Wondergrass, skied our legs off (and won!) at the wonderful STARS Mountain Challenge and launched our first Young Artist Collection Neck Gaiter, designed by Reece Davidoff from Steamboat Springs, CO and sustainably made in Denver.

MAY

Robin took the stage at events like The Power of WE (Women Entrepreneurs) and COILS (Colorado Outdoor Industry Leadership Summit) where she grew her public speaking muscle and spread Town Hall awareness and community love around the state.

JUNE

June took us back to the place where we had our first sale in 2021 - at the Fruita Kids Adventure Games. We saw lots of familiar faces and our kids gave the obstacle course a try.

JULY - AUGUST

We spread our wings and showed up in a big way at events across the state. From a partner event with our friends at Chopwood Mercantile in Crested Butte to the Emerald Mountain Epic to the inspiring 24 Hour Boat Cruise, we built some strong bonds and loved giving back in our home town.

SEPTEMBER

Our Second Annual Back To Snow event kicked off the beginning of the winter season for Town Hall. Every year, we celebrate with friends old and new in our downtown design garage (aka Jay's garage). We showcase our new products and bring some fun and fire to our little alley in Steamboat.

OCTOBER

We were honored to take part with ten women-led outdoor gear brands in the Women-Led, Mom-Approved Outdoor Gear Giveaway. We made some new friends, deep bonds and helped shine a light on all of the great work that women entrepreneurs do in the outdoor space.

NOVEMBER

We treked to Kansas City to showcase Town Hall in front of some of the savviest outdoor retailers in the US, at the Grassroots Outdoor Alliance Connect Show. Made some strong connections and built some awesome credibility.

DECEMBER

Speaking of credibility, we added a huge feather in our cap when our Down Town Puffy earned Outside Magazine's Best Kids' Winter Gear of 2023! Just a few weeks later, our Around Town Cold Weather Jacket made it on Gear Junkie's list of Best Outdoor Gifts for Kids.

(More) DECEMBER

We partnered with nine Steamboat Springs-based outoor gear brands to open a holiday pop-up shop in the Hala Gear Space on Yampa Street. To learn from our friends in the valley, greet our community and bring our brand fully to life in store was magic!

(Lastly) DECEMBER

Now there's a puffy for the whole family! We launched a small quantity of adult puffies on our website and they have been spooted all over town! We also received all of our product from the factory and made it home (with only one snowstorm, overnight delay) pulling a UHaul up from Denver.
