#LoveOutside as a Family on Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about fancy dinners and cheapy (yet cute!) conversation hearts—it’s the perfect excuse to get outside and share love in the best way possible: through adventures, fresh air, and good peeps (and pups). From the slopes to the river to walks around the block, our best memories are when we take time to be outside as a family. So, show some love to you and yours this Valentine's Day and check out these ways to #loveoutside, no matter the weather!

1. Hit the Slopes Together

If you’re lucky enough to live near the mountains, skiing or snowboarding is a perfect way to get outside together. Plan a family ski day, take a few fun runs, and warm up with hot cocoa at the lodge. (In Steamboat, our fave stops are Four Points and Paramount.) Dress the family in lei's or retro ski gear for more giggles, or eyerolls from the teens, on the hill!

2. Snowshoe or Winter Hike with a Picnic

Bundle up in your Town Hall gear, grab your snowshoes, and head into the woods for a lovely winter hike. Pack a Camelbak of hot cider or cocoa, some hearty snacks, and a warm blanket. Find a scenic spot, take in the calm around you, and enjoy a mini Valentine’s picnic surrounded by the beauty.

3. Build a Snow Fort or Have a Friendly Snowball Fight

Nothing brings out laughter and joy like an epic snowball fight or a fort-building competition! Gather your family and friends, divide into teams, and see who can build the most impressive snow fortress. End the battle with a round of s’mores or a warm firepit gathering around the Solo Stove.

4. Starry Night Adventure: Moonlit Hike or Ice Skating

Valentine’s Day isn’t just about the daytime! A moonlit adventure can be just as magical. (And tonight is a full moon, so it will still be strong by Friday!) Try a nighttime hike with headlamps or go ice skating under the stars. If you have access to a firepit, wrap up the evening with roasted marshmallows and cozy blankets.

5. Try Something New Together

Have you been wanting to try cross-country skiing, fat biking, or even winter camping? Valentine’s Day is a great excuse to try a new outdoor activity with your family or friends. You'll learn a lot, make some mistakes and have stories to tell together forever.

6. Love Your Community: Give Back Outside

Love isn’t just about who you spend time with—it’s also about giving back! Gather your crew and organize a small outdoor cleanup, volunteer at a community event, or simply leave a few trailhead snacks for other adventurers. Small acts of kindness go a long way in spreading the love.

7. Gear Up for the Day in Comfort & Style

No matter how you choose to celebrate, staying warm and comfy is key. Check out our new Thunderhead beanies for adults and kiddos and our fun Ski and Ride Bunny Neck Gaiters to stay cozy while you are out there. And don't forget about our award-winning Down Town Puffy for adults and kiddos as well!

Whether it’s a family ski day, a winter hike, or a starlit adventure, the best way to say “I love you” is by making awesome, outdoor memories together.
